Here’s a nasty statistic for you. 30% of Australians over age 80 have some form of dementia.
Here’s another anecdote. Most Australian’s dont plan for Aged Care. It will never happen to me. People deal with it when forced to.
If someone already has dementia they cannot grant a power of attorney or make important decisons for themselves. It’s now complicated.
If you have elderly parents you should be discussing Enduring Powers of Attorney with them and with your (or their) legal adviser
