Who gets your Super when you die?
Super does not automatically flow into your Will (you dont own it, the trustee of your fund owns it on your behalf). You can make your superannuation flow into your estate to be dealt with by your Will BUT NOT by having a clause in the Will saying “I leave my superannuation… (I saw this recently, a Will that cost a few dollars too!)
And if you are divorced or separated and don’t want the ex to have it, nominating the kids as your beneficiaries wont work if they are under 18. Their guardian will control the funds. Its a pretty sure bet their legal guardian will be the other parent.
Don’t ignore this!!
